What is Colon Hydrotherapy?
Colon Hydrotherapy is often referred to as colonics, high colonics, or colon irrigation. It is a very safe and effective method to cleanse the Colon (large intestine) of accumulated waste and toxins, gently and gradually.
Colon Hydrotherapy is a safe, gentle infusion of warm filtered water into the rectum using no chemicals or drugs. This is a restorative, painless procedure which is both relaxing and effective. The individual lies comfortably on a custom treatment table and a small speculum is gently inserted in the rectum. The therapist then monitors the temperature and pressure of the water infused into and out of the colon (large intestine) without any assistance on the part of the individual. The entire procedure takes approximately 40 minutes.
The colon hydrotherapy method cleanses the entire colon without stressing the individual. The instrument features a disposable unit which eliminates any possible contamination to the patient from a previous procedure. The system is closed and waste material is eliminated through the instrument and out the drain line, avoiding any offensive odor and maintaining the dignity of the individual.
Frequency of Procedure
An initial series of between 3 to 12 procedures are recommended. Years of improper nutrition cannot possibly be reversed in a few procedures. More procedures may be required in cases of chronic constipation or the atonic (sluggish) colon condition. Following the initial program, it is advisable to have a series of 2-3 procedures every change of season or once a month to maintain optimal colon health.
Peat hydrotherapy Baths
3 minimum recommended.
Peat hydrotherapy is a bath with a temperature between 106-112 degrees (tailored to the patient's case) with minerals. These minerals also called Peat is added to increase circulation, boost the immune system, relieve pain in muscles and joints, decrease inflammation and detoxify the body. With Peat baths the toxins are carried out of the tissues and eliminated.
How Peat Hydrotherapy Works.....
Healthy cells need oxygen, nutrients, and a way to eliminate metabolic waste products, which means that healthy cells need a good circulation and detoxification system to perform optimally. Peat hydrotherapy helps to reverse cellular damage by dramatically increasing circulation and cellular fluids, allowing oxygen and nutrients to reach the cells, and helping wastes and toxins to leave the cells. Peat has water carrying capacity that allows it to maintain either hot or cold temperatures. This capacity creates prolonged vasodilatation and increased circulation that lasts for several hours after the peat bath has ended. It also allows the naturally occurring substances in peat to be absorbed into the body, while excreting the toxins and wastes that have accumulated in the tissues.
Most toxins are stored in our fat tissue. The intense heat from the peat mobilizes the toxins stored in our tissues, increases our circulation, and allows for toxin excretion mainly through perspiration. Removal of toxins from our bodies improves cellular function, increases our circulation and immune system and enhances our general health and well-being.
Heavy metal toxicity can impair our immune system, affect our cognitive functioning and cause skin reactions and other diseases. Peat hydrotherapy has the ability to aid in the elimination of stored heavy metals - mercury, cadmium, lead, arsenic and tin - as well as other highly toxic substances and compounds from our bodies. The humic acid found in peat has the ability to bind benzopyrene, the carcinogenic compound found in cigarettes, thus possibly inhibiting its mutagenic effects. Fulvic acid in peat absorbs aluminum, making peat hydrotherapy potentially important in treating Alzheimer's disease.
Peat plays an essential role in detoxification of the body. Each day we are exposed to a multitude of toxins in the environment - through water, ground, air, and even in our food. Our bodies try to process and eliminate these toxins but our bodies are not able to keep up with such a toxic load. Studies have shown that human tissue contains 400-600 chemical residues.
Far Infared Saunas - FIR
We use "Heavenly Heat" Saunas built for chemically - injured people who are reactive to any slight exposure to toxic fumes. For more information, please visit www.heavenlyheatsaunas.com.
- "Sweating during sauna therapy eliminates high levels of toxic metals, organic compounds, dioxin, and other toxins."
The following are quoted snippets from various articles and studies on toxic metals:
- "Analyses of the patient's sweat indicated that appreciable amounts of mercury were excreted by this route."1
- "The mean concentrations of nickel and cadmium in sweat were higher than those reported for urine; that of lead was similar to urine."2
- "By far the earliest known form of therapy" (to induce mercury excretion), "and possibly still the most effective, is the induction of sweating by the use of sauna or steam baths."3
- "... sauna therapy of an individual with evidence of chronic mercurialism was effective at inducing a remarkable excretion of mercury via the sweat."3
- (In workers who have perspired profusely) ... "the total amount of mercury excreted in the sweat during 90 minutes ranged from 50% to 90% of that found in a 16-hour composite sample of urine (Lovejoy, et al.).4
- "Sweating does indeed increase mercury excretion. Probably an hour or two of sauna is the same as 50 mg of DMSA every 4 hours for a day."5
